There’s plenty to do and see in Claremont — the only city in Sullivan County. This former mill town has reinvented itself into a travel destination. Visitors can enjoy a vibrant Main Street, historical buildings from the 19th century, scenic views, working farms as well as fine dining, shopping and entertainment. More is soon to come to this ever-developing city.

Have a need for speed? Stock car races start at 7 p.m. on Fridays at the Twin State Speedway. Also known as the Fleury Family Speedway or Claremont Speedway, the track started in 1947 on what was originally a potato patch. The roar from 282 Thrasher Road can be heard throughout town as racers rev their engines. The speedway is open April through September.
